Everything you need to know about the service.
Anything with the 10¢ refundable label — glass bottles, aluminium cans, plastic bottles, juice boxes, and other drink containers covered by South Australia's Container Deposit Scheme.
They really get recycled — and that's rarer than you'd think. According to the SA EPA, only 11% of the glass placed in yellow kerbside bins makes it back into a glass container; most breaks in transit and is downgraded to uses like road base. Containers returned through the deposit scheme are different: 99% is recovered for local bottle manufacturing.
Everything in your Rabbit bin is hand-sorted by Nick and the team and delivered to a local depot — straight into that 99% stream.
Not yet! That label currently only applies in Queensland, WA and the NT. South Australia has committed to adding wine and spirit bottles (plus juice, cordial and large flavoured-milk containers) to the scheme, targeted for 2027.
Until then, wine and spirit bottles go in your yellow council bin — even with the 10c symbol. The moment that changes, our clients will be the first to know, and we'll happily take them.
Rabbit Recycling can supply 60L, 120L and 240L bins. We'll help you choose the right size based on how many containers your household or business generates.
Yes, please:
Collection is scheduled on request when your bin is near capacity. We currently pick up on most Wednesdays and Thursdays. Just let us know when you're full and we'll arrange a swap.
No worries — you can start a collection pool with your neighbours or workplace! The more people who contribute, the faster the bin fills and the more efficient the service becomes for everyone.
Yes! We offer event bins for parties, community events, sports clubs, and more. Contact us directly to discuss your event requirements and we'll sort out the details.
The refund money goes toward sustaining the business rather than being passed back to customers. In return you get:
